Stafford, Parent PLUS, Graduate PLUS loans and federal consolidation includes an automatic extension, but private loans for students are only eligible if the loan agreement expressly provides for a postponement of the military effort. Many private loans do not offer this feature.

I wish I could say that a person was in active service in some way automatically provides an extension of its payment obligations, but it's just not something like a question of law.
